SHELL CHAIR
IN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
AT
INSTITUTE OF BIODIVERSITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION(IBEC)
The Shell Chair was established at the Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation (IBEC) in 1995 with the aim to encourage and promote studies on wide ranging issues includes environmental pollution, resource management, sustainable development, environmental assessment and conservation strategies.

Chair-holder/Senior Research Fellow

The Chair-holder/Senior Research Fellow provides leadership for strengthening the capacity of the Institute to engage in terrestrial or coastal resource management research leading to documentation and to draw up a management policy for their sustainable utilization of diverse bio-resources of Sabah and Sarawak.He or She should have an outstanding record of achievement in one of the following fields; Environmental Studies, Botany, Zoology, Marine Biology, Environmental Chemistry, Sedimentology, Geography or other related discipline. A working knowledge of geographical information system (GIS) would be an advantage.
